Pressed Plates?

Hey guys, i'm new here but i have been looking over the forum as a guest for a long time :) I'm going to be getting my first car soon and i'm adamant that i want a Saxo. I've also been looking at the little mods (Tinting headlights, Tcut badges etc) and i saw the French pressed plates and they look really nice.. but i've heard they're illegal? Can anyone verify this please?

they are illegal i had them on my old 106 and got pulled a few times with them on as they aint laminated plastic with the correct kite markings
