Wonder if anyone can help.
Got a parking ticket couple of nights ago for parking near my girlfriends. Hardly anyone has driveways so its a nightmare to park near her house. The road is also a bus route so it isn't great.
I and many others park on the corner footpath of a smaller road thats runs onto her road. Its a really wide footpath and can easily park a car and people can get by easily too. The road does however have double yellow lines as its a corner.
I recieved a ticket with code 01: Parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours.
Is this the right offence? Theres no restricted zone signage on any of the roads. Im a bit stuck.
Please help

You can't park on double yellow lines or a public footpath. So yeh, they were right in giving you a ticket.

Is it a resident permit parking area?

Yeah i realise it is technically an offence but is the offence that they have ticketed me for right?

tbh mate your best off just bitin the bullet and payin the fine, as u were on double yellows anyway
would only cost you more in the longrun if u took it further :n:

Yeh exactly. Court costs and stress if you try and fight these things. They'll tie you up in so much red tape it isn't worth it in the long run.

there is a specific fine for parking on the curb.
i got one in an area where signs clearly marked for you to do so. (retarded warden)...
you can do an initial appeal, and if you loose it pay the original fine, its when it goes to court if you then challenge this decision the £££ roll up

Thanks for all the help. Going to contest it but not go as far as court.
Just annoying that it was the only option I had and haven't caused an obstruction.
Just the way it is I suppose, and only £35 if I have to pay.

my gf parked outside her house on the curb, traffic warden went next door to see her friend for a cuppa, at the same time she got her ticket book out and booked every car parked on the curb with a smile on her face, but in all fairnes the warden was right .....wouldnt bother contesting it, you will be wasting your time

Are you not allowed to park half on/ half off a kerb then?

surely the double yellows make it a restricted street?
Also, I wouldn't try fighting it...
On double yellow lines, on a footpath, and on an entry to a junction
