seats on their own will make no difference, you'll need to remove carpet, sound proofing, roof liner, rear door cards etc to have an effect. What mods have been done?

Have a look at Toad's GTI for a proper stripped car ;)

seats make the most difference! its the heaviest bit on your list!

if i was you drop the rear bench and the spare if its only a toy then spend on upgrades

k&n not good then?

top end versions £100-£200 ye but the cheap cone that sit next the engine are wank and will slow you down

i had a cone on my corsa took it off for a standard air box with a k&n panel filter much better as less engine heat getting in the engine

I have removed the seats, sound deadening, rear seat belts and rear door cards and it made no noticable difference.

The K&N Gen2 is a fantastic induction kit, £180 though :)

I'd go mad and throw everything out and chuck some cheap buckets in :)

This thread has dissapointed me, i thought it was going to be about not being able to handle your drink.

k & n with a decent cold feed, or away from places where it can soak heat, is still pretty good.

more surface area than a bmc or standard airbox setup

As long as its been looked after and gets a good regular service i would of thought miles wouldnt be much of an issue :y:

People that take out their back bench only for the benefit of saving weight...

It's only like a few KG, if that.

Though, not on the hating 'track car' bandwagon. I don't care if it goes on track, maybe you shouldn't call it that, but if that's the look people want to go for, then why not, as good as any.

But JUST the back bench a fail. You want to 'strip' it a little more than that to achieve at least a cosmetically 'stripped' look :p.

have a look at the thread in my sig, that sort of weight reduction makes a difference.

took out my rear seats to move a drum kit around. in a 1.1, it makes some difference, but not much. can imagine its not much cop in a bigger engine!

Do it if your gonna do it properly, but it looks abit silly without a cage and seats.

yeah totally agree i hate standard cars with no rear seats. I have mine out currently as i will be fitting carbon and repainting the boot until i got buckets there going back in

get it stripped out mate, will be much better with all the excess weight off you dont need.

Taking the rear seats out, together with the spare wheel does make the back end incredibly light and want to wander out, having just done this last weekend, along with all floor lining, rear panel covers etc.
No noticeable performance gain as such, however a noticable increase in fuel economy (Y)

get rid of everything inside, cards, carpet, dash, seats etc, then you'll notice a difference.

if you wanted a real difference, and dont mind spending some money, replace glass windows with perspex. thats the biggest difference
