Iv been looking a white vtr for quite a while now, spotted this on ebay before but sounds abit dodgey to me dont really see why its being sold as a non-runner becuase it has a flat battery and no MOT, what are your thoughts?

Put the eBay item number (not the link here) and we can have a look.
Only way to find out is go and look at it, can't even test drive it though ofc.

Or a battery charger? If it was just a battery then surely he would just change / charge it so he could sell it as a runner? Sounds fishy to me, but check it out by all means :)

Item number: 250610120533. Yes it is fairly local i would be taking a battery with me if i was to go and view it but it sounds wierd to me i wouldnt sell my car as a runner if it was the battery and the alternator that needed sorting.

would be worth taking a mechanic etc to have a check over it and see if it would pass its mot
and if it would then tell him you will buy it (if it runs after battery change) and if he puts it through its mot

Im saying something isnt right, theres no way you would sell your car as a non runner for the sake of £40.
"I bought this off ebay a few weeks ago as a non-runner with the intention of getting it sorted out, however my situation has changed and I am having to sell this as it is."
That shows he brought it thinking it was an easy fix and realised its not as simple as he thought.

he has stated that when he chaged it up it started and drove. he has also mentioned all the other problems with it, to me it sounds like the bloke has been quite honest and if you can get it for that price it would still be a cheap vtr even if you was to buy a 16v engine to drop in it. tbh if you can get if for that price it would be worth it to break if it wasnt any good. just my worthless opinion lol

i'd buy it for breaking money but that'd be it, if you got it started and all was good then its a winner,if not then you can always sell it for breaking or spares/repair if you've not paid a lot
