While listening to music and you recieve a text or want to play a game and a song comes on you dont like...

Double tap the main button and skip, play/pause and volume come up.
just a little easier than having to go back into iPod all the time.

Is it jailbroken? If it is jailbreaking mucks up some of the push notifications on some iPhones. I would go into settings, go right to the bottom where facebook is and just check everything is switched on

whilst listening to music with your headset and you don't know the name of the track, press and hold the middle button on the handsfree - the music will pause and you hear a beep in your ear. Ask it "what is this track called" and it will tell you.

Its great for when you're on the train etc and your phone is on your pocket. If you want to skip a track, press and hold the middle headset button and say "next track"

if you wanna skip track while phone is in pocket and headphones in just double tap the middle headphone button, much quicker, and if you wanna skip back a track press middle headphone button 3 times :-)
