First things first......never ever go to a tattooist for a tattoo.go to a tattoo artist. this may sound stupid but to people who are into their tattoos they will know what i mean.
tattooist can only do pics and stencils etc and when they attempt freehand it is absolutly terrible. a tattoo artist is someone that if you bring him a detailed design or image he can do his own freehand work on it and it will look totaly awsome!

Nah, I'd say a tattooist implies that they just do tattoo's. Kind of like violinist, pianist etc?

No offence here but your wrong, you obviously dont appreciate body art, people who do, will understand what i mean. there is a huge difference between someone who is a tattooist and a tattoo artist.

^^^ Work such as this is very complex with ALOT of hours spent shading and colouring.

^^^ (''work'' and i use that term very lightly) have all clearly been done by a tattooist, as you can see these cannot even be considered anywhere near the same league as the previous ones done by a tattoo artists!
hope now u can kinda of grasp what i am talkin about.

your right mate!
a tattooist is someone who can copy simple designs consisting of 2 or 3 shades and colours.
steer well clear of TATTOOIST!
