its citroen ffs everything is well over priced there i wouldnt ever think of going to a main dealer again after quotes my gf got on her c2.. over 500 for master cylinder doing and over 1000 for new loom and fitting... when eventualy we got it done altogether for 500

May as well give it a go, and if you fail just take it on the chin and go elsewhere.

your not actually gaining anything from it, you get a free test, which they will fail you for, it says to get the free retest you need to get the repairs done by citroen, which will cost a bomb, so might aswell not bother and pay £35 and get a free retest if it fails, only advantage i guess is that if it passes, you dont have to pay out, but more chance pigs will fly

Tommyboy1507

i wanna get it done so i can fit my HIDs

Probably will find loads of "faults" with your car.

I got a free MOT with Kwikfit when I bought my insurance, I'm going to take it along about a month before the MOTs due and see if it passes.

its 40mils in petrol money so about a fiver in petrol

You are gaining something, you are getting a free MOT.

If you then fix the faults, then pay for an MOT elsewhere, you've still only paid for one MOT, but ensured it will pass ;D.

Basically a fault finding service imo.

And yes, it does say in the small print on the Citroen website, "Free retests will only be given if any work required is undertaken at the garage".

3. Re-tests will be undertaken free of charge, providing that the vehicle does not leave the premises until the rectification work needed has been completed and a certificate issued. In all other cases, re-tests will be charged at the full price of £54.00.

So whatever it fails on you will have leave it there and pay dealer prices for the work to be done.......ouch

...If you want a free re-test.

If it passes the MOT. It's all roses, if it fails, you get the list of faults, which is more valuable than an MOT, fix them, and take the car to a garage of your choice, or even back to Citroen, you just have to pay £50. (Normal price of an MOT).

Citroen told us (before we booked) that any repairs had to be carried out by them. Although by law, they can't hold your vehicle there if it fails the MOT.

Grey area, but you're quite within your rights to drive the car away for repairs elsewhere if it fails.

i might aswell just go to a normal garage and save myself from driving there to the free mot. i can see why no alot of people do it

Oh yeah, you can get it cheaper, you can get it cheaper than that, seen them for £10 and that.

Point is, you're not loosing anything by taking up this offer.

always try and find a garage where you know someone; i took mine to one garage and it failed me on tyres! A family friend owns a tyre stock/garage and he told me that there was nothing wrong with my tyres at all and would last another year easily, just idiots trying to get your business.

Yeah, their a main dealer, you expect this, you don't expect them to cut corners. (WHEN IT COMES TO VAN INSURANCE - direct line).

imo.

My Dad gets everything done at the Vauxhall dealership. And even though he's driven a corsa around 60k miles he just recently passed an MOT with everything standard from New apart from 2 Tyres. The car's 3 years old. Although it is mostly Motorway miles, so don't use the brakes much.

They will find every little thing wrong in every nook and cranny, fail it on the smallest thing, conn u into lettin them repair it and then charge u for another MOT.
Some things are sometimes to good to be true but in this case it will DEFINITELY be too good to be true lol
