Okay i just thought i'd make a thread on this so people don't get fleeced say 30-40 quid when they only NEED a 14.99 kit,,

Basicly i was in my local auto electricals shop getting a new wiring kit for my 306 as my old kit went with the saxo :( Anywhoo... The kit i had in my old saxo looked identical to the kit they had in this shop appart from the fact that the kit in teh shop said 350 watts max !

I've had original kit in my saxo for agessssss running a 1200w sub bridged at 450watts rms and never had one problem,, basicly you don't neccesarily need a 50 quid kit, as long as it's not stupidly thin you can run a fair amount on it with no problems at all :)

EDIT: i think my wireing is 8 gauge but i'm not 100% will have a look when i get home

It will say 350w max, but it will be capable of handling alot more than that, but running an higher rating setup on smaller cable isnt wise as you want cable that is the right size for the amount of amps you will be drawing when using your ice. If the cable is too small it will be limited on the current it will draw and will waste alot of power through heat and thus making it a fire hazard. Plus the fuse you get will be of a smaller rating so if your ice is too powerful you will be blowing fuses and worrying that your cable you spent a few hours putting in will be too small for your set up meaning you would have to spend more money and time. The ratings are there for a reason and prob to cover the manufacturers bottom if your ice blew up through skimped cable so you cant blame them.

cable doesn't even get vagly warm :) and it's got a 20 amp in line fuse and a 40 amp fuse on teh amp anyways :) currently running it a 450w rms anyways :)
