iphone 2g internet problem HELP

right i bought a iphone for my sister
so i unlocked it on blackrain
3.1.2
and the phone is fine
calls,texts, connects to wifi

but when i disconnect wifi
it doesnt let me go on the internet
ive tryed her simcard in my phone and connects to internet fine(its not orange)
it says

could not activate cellular data network
you are no subscribed to a cellular data service?

the connection to server
pop3.live.com failed

any ideas?
i can use the internet fine when connected through wifi.

sounds like the cellular data is incorrect, either that or the networks having issues

What was the phone bought on (contract) and what is the phone running now?

As certain bits need changing, like i had to change mine to payasyougo.co.uk in the data roaming section for the internet to work, and if you were on contract the address would be different.

Does it say in the network section you need a username and password?

not sure what phone is?
no passwords.
it was on 02 the phone but shes orange.
her sim card works fine in my 3g with the internet. so must be phone?
