Hi guys, I'm new to this world of cars, only just passed my test 3 months ago from the first time, obviously love driving like all you guys. Went to an auction and bought myself a 2002 Citroen Saxo VTR, with only 59k, service history, tax 6 months, mot end of june, etc...

Well, there's obviously its own faults too, like the rubber engine seal (yop) needs replacing, and that's almost it...

Except, the car was lowered down (it has some red suspensions), and whenever I go through a bump it makes a mad banging noise! I thought that the front shocks were gone at first place... took it to Big Tyre City garage in Nott's and they've said they have no idea LOL!!! They showed me suspension and they seemed to be new(ish). What a tossers!

Does anyone know any good mechanics in around Nott's who deal with custom suspension? I have no clue whatsoever about suspensions or anything... I'm telling you, i'm proper new to this world of cars, I still need to learn the car language, if you know what I mean.

But yeah, it makes a terrible noise as If i'm riding without suspensions. Any ideas?

Is the car very low? It could be bottoming out

If its bottoming out over normal bumps its gotta be seriously low on shite suspension.

More likely that:

A. Some form of rubber bush or componant has failed on either the rear or the front, as in bottom arms, drop links, ball joints, top mounts, roll bar bush's etc
B. The springs & shocks have been fitted incorrectly and something is loose.

A suspension knock can be 1 of alot of things so you need it looking at by a compitant garage or technician.

Thanks for replying super fast guys, yeah I'm not an expert in car myself, however, I guess it's because the car has been lowered down, or someone unexperienced as me might have lowered the car incorectly.

I've only just moved into Clifton Village, 5min away from Nott's Trent Uni Campus in Clifton. Yeah-yeah if you have some spare time you're more than just welcome to have a look at it. I need a saxo buddy in Nott's lol...
