Really want to hear from people who know their stuff when it comes to insurance or have had a previous 16v Conversion and their experiences with Insurance.

Where is best to go to?
What do you pay?

Last thing I want to do is drive around with a 16v lump in my VTR with it not on the insurance, unless anyone on here has ever done this? If you don't want to say on here, PM me :)

if you modify your car and do not declare it you are not covered but the third party claiming is
they never came to see my car in a crash that went against me

You need to speak to a modified car insurance specialist. This is not the sort of thing you can insure via a price comparison site usually.

My company insure many, many engine converted cars: Tel 02083645500, please mention membgership of Saxperience for the 20% discount.

Opening hours? :y: If its your company, would you be able to say an average figure give or take a few hundred for a 19 year old with a 16v conversion, got pass plus and 1y ncb, no crashes as well :y:

The engine won't be fitted until after my 19th Bday which hopefully should make it cheaper :y:

Was wondering why all the price comparison websites would not even give me 1 quote between the lot of them lol

These guys are awesome. Mines a converted Furio, its insured as a 'Citroen Saxo Furio 1.6 16v', all completely declared (3 pages worth of mods nearly all performance based), £1100 TPFT for a 20yr old with a crash and 1NCB last year. Im about to renew with my crash removed and another NCB.

They dont charge any extra for performance modifications, unless it takes the maximum BHP past the agreed limit. You can raise this limit for a very fair rate.

Cant recommend them enough, always a friendly Welshman on the other end of the phone whenever you need them :D

comp isnt too much, cost £569 tpft for me (21, 4ync, no points) and 670 fully comp, thats as has been mentioned with a loooong list of modifications

Comp isnt much more, but I dont really see the benefits with a Saxo anymore, theyre worth so little that after the excess comes off you get feck all back. Plus if I ever had anything happen Id repair it myself. But they do provide fully comp cover
