Basically bought some 206 gti 266mm brake calipers pads and discs and wondered if I will need to upgrade my mc?

The brakes are going to be fitted on to a Mk1 VTS!

All help will be thanked!

Cheers!

Its worth it, as it will take away some of the pedal travel

You geting braided hoses aswell?

Im in the same boat but with 4pots.
What Mc is the larger one to upgrade to? and do all the standard fittings attach straight into it?
Im getting braided lines but just the ends on the front corners.

sorry for the hijack.

23mm is the upgrade can be picked up for around £30.00

tbh personally dont see the point,i have 266mm brakes the pedal travel is not even that bad, good fluid, braided lines is fine, you can also adjust the 'pedal feel' using one of the guides in the how to section.

Thanks lads!

I want going to upgrade to braided lines, is it recommended? What's the advantages of braidedlines?

The fittings are the same on all the peugeot calipers.
So the standerd hoses will fit but can pull tight on full lock and or suspension travel which is dangerous and an mot fail
braided lines improve the pedal feel, require less force to exert the same pressure on the disk

over good condition hoses I doubt anyone will notice a difference in braking but if your standard lines are old then the effects can be pronounced. The benefit is they are more resistant to damage and deterioration and obviously you can get them longer if needed.

Ive just fitted 266mm brakes on my furio and the pedal travel is the same as it was with my standard brakes. Although i do need all 4 brakes bleeding which i will do tonight.

master cylinder upgrade isnt necessary, but is a worthwhile upgrade in my experience

yeah you dont really NEED to do either of them mods, i would get braided hoses for sure while the old hoses are half off.
mc is personal preference.
i havent done mine but might in future.
