had them for while now, the problem is whenever someone in the back they scrape the rear arches sometimes.

i have cut the arches back a bit, spaced the wheels slightly using different combinations, and took various plastic parts off from behind the wheel.

should i even have 15's on ?

if someone has had the same problem and solved it please let me know :)

thank you.

(if not ill just have to put up with them lol).

i should also say its not a constand scrape...mainly over bumps, pot holes and changing gradients on hills.

have added VTR shockers to see if they made a difference, which they did. but still do it :wall:

All i can say is it may be due to it being a flat arch and with the extra weight in the back because i have 15's on and it's lowered 40mm at the back and i don't have that problem. If it doesn't bother you that much just live with it. Sorry i couldn't be anymore help.

could be a dodgy rear beam? With the extra weight the load on the wheel is increased making it toe in more and scrape the arch

are they the correct offset on the alloys cuz if they was shudnt scrape not being lowered, got mine 70 mil and dont scrape with people in bk,if correct offset try a lower profile tyre on bk

they look big for 15's imo and the wheels seem to be out more (cause of the spacers i assume) maybe get cut some more from lip on the arch. if that fails new wheels?

Are you running 195/45/15 tyres? These shouldnt rub. Im down 70mm on the rear with 15's and all ive done is cut the lip off the arch and i can carry 5 people in the car no bother.

Tyres look fat as. Falkens have a natural slope to their tyre wall, get two of them

yep deffo 195/45/15....:(

and to be quite honest i have i think 2 wheel washers on each bolt of the wheels forspacers, tried with 1 washers and 3 washers....2 seemed to be the best....(yeah i no very dodgey but they work.) halfords sold us some real spacers but they didn't fit lmao.

You need you arches rolling, failing that no fat people. Also keep an eye on the scraping tyre as if it blows could be very dangerous

Yer definitely bigger than 15, i dont see any reason for the wheel to scrape? gota be something else imo

jack123
27th April 2010, 17:31
did u say u had spacers cus mine has spacers and even with the arches rolled mate it still rubbed if u had like vts wheel on it be fine cus its a straight fit but its cus u have spacers
well thats what the problem was for me anyways
and look at my progress to see the streched tyres lol

dunno why its scraping...i have 15" 195/45/15 on mine...not lowered, flat arch and all standard and it doesn't scrape even with 5 people in the car. your problem must be a fooked offset/pcd
