ladies and gents.
a close friend of mine and to many on here, RichM aka Rich Mo, has been involved in a Motorbike accident! he Rides a Honda CBR400!
i dont know the full ins and outs nor is it my place to speak of the event, but ive had brief words with his Girlfriend.
he has been left with several broken bones in his back, and is paralysed from the Chest to his Feet.
has undergone major surgery, and is being relocated to a different Hospital next week!
he is talking, which is a good thing!
but lets hope for a full recovery!
i was only saying to him on the weekend that we can go on rides in the evenings together!

Bad news there.
No quick recover on this one, prepare of hours of being a superb friend. I would start by purchasing him an Xbox and Forza because he's going to have a fuck load of spare time on his hands and very limited movement.

Something like this just happened today a few miles from my house. Guy on a 125 going down a road about 60 and a guy pulled out a junction on him. The guy was rushed to hospital with major neck and back injuries and the guy he crashed into got a cut face from the side window smashing

and is awake!
so far, its all looking good!
but no visits allowed yet! so im still waiting for to hear about a date i can go see him!
it has kind of put me off taking the new bike out for a blast, but speaking to my mum about it, she said "if you live your life in fear of having an accident then you'll never do anything" which to me makes alot of sense!
all the best Mo! hope your keeping strong! i know Tina is!

the majority of motorbike accidents are because of the twat in a car, not the rider themself!
fact.
but who knows... i have all faith in Mo tbh! and know he wouldnt of done anything to have caused this, and ill stand by that!

You have to have eye's in the back of your head. Seen some car driver's who are very good to biker's but there's also a lot of nobs.

Like i said above pal ^^
One that annoy's me is when a biker wants to nip round afew car's, but the car infront will pull to the white line - sometimes even over - just to try and stop you nipping round them.
Seriously, once you're round, you're gone! They don't have to see you anymore, so why try and stop you :S

yeah man, its annoying that some car drivers are so ignorant towards us!
but its perfectly legal for us to do so, and to filter!
there was one thing local, and two bikes were riding, and one had a tank camera! so its all on video for the court...
and the bikes went to over take so crosed the dashed lines and started to do so and with that, this car pulled out to do so too! into the side of the bike, and killed him.
im glad that i got my bike license before i started driving! you appreciate other road users ALOT more! and i still dont think there is enough out there to make the other drives THINK BIKE!

You'd also be suprised how bad Motorbike riders are on the road when they know they could easily die. One prime example, watch that Stu-Pid video. Or that court case where a guy got caught doing something like 130mph on the Motorway with his teenage son as Pillion. It's more of a 50-50 between bad drivers, and bad riders. I hardly ever see a Bike Rider follow the speed limit where I live, and where I live there are lots of blind bends with a junction right after it. That's where accidents happen when you're going too fast that you cause an accident as you're not seen but going too fast to react.

One case...
Any motorbike rider will be superior to any car driver, your sitting outside with no detractions clearly focussed on the road ahead of you, a motorbike rider has much more 'feel' of a road, the corner the pot hole coming up and the slippery wet drain are all taken into account riding day in day out, motorbikes are lighter than cars with quicker engines and brakes that stop instantly...don't be so quick to judge.
Get well soon pal, didn't know it was you at first then read the thread through and saw your post.

Such a shock as I've used that corner for the past 7 years. Was it the bus that pulled right into the cobbled street that goes uphill ? Forgot the name of the road. Says that some of the students got off the bus to help you and call the services etc. Was good of them :)
So glad your awake and talking bud.

And if you read my comment, I stated how there is a 50/50 ratio of bad drivers to bad riders. You can't say that every Bike Rider is a superior rider. As with drivers you get the idiots who push too far. And I never tried to start an argument, or judge RichM or anyone, but to say all Car Drivers are the causes of Motorbike accidents is a bit ludicrous. I never stated anything about RichM's crash, and never even said his name in my original post. So don't be so quick to judge my comments and mis-construe them.
