Lowering and Spacers

I have a mk1 saxo and was thinking about lowering it and getting spacers on the wheels. but because the front wheels are wider and stick out abit whereas the rear wheels dont! would i need bigger spacers on the rear wheels than the front to make it look right or just get 30mm spacers all round? and whats the best height to lower it ? iv been told 35mm is just right!? mines down 40mm all round and stuck 20mm spacers on rears and they have come out just over the arch with about 20mm between tyre and arch. haven';t decided on having the front yets i quite like its stance at the mo
