Im currently putting my VTR back to standard, and adding some newly purchased WESTcoast badges.
How could I get around installing airducts both for brakes and air intake without them being on show? I've only come up with putting them behind my front bumper grille.

your returning it to standard? :S not much of a sleeper... or do you mean just looks?

I did think that, but does that not look obvious?
Also, was wondering what the back pressure is like with a straight through exhaust but a standard backbox.
Can imagine it's pretty strong and pops like a cherry ;)

Only if you have the manifold and straight through pipe it will pipe, mines de-catted but with standard mani and is silent.
IMO, Buy a 1.1 Flatarch, and 16v it. That will be a sleeper!

I've got 4-2-1 mani and is decatted (obviously) and currently have no baffles/wadding in backbox, rasps a lot and sounds nice, pops too, but not enough.
dont fancy going down the route of spark plugs/fuel injectors in the exhaust for the comic flames either lol:bump:

and thanks frankie, they look pretty subtle, do they both go to brakes?
Im thinking of having fogs for brakes and one hidden in grill for my induction

im running standard brakes at the moment, only vented but they seem to be getting pretty hot due to fast road use, will eventually uprate them but wanted to try ducts anyway.
im pushing 120bhp at the moment, not a lot but only have cams manifold and enclosed induction

what did you do with your fog light wires?
remove them or secure them for possible future use?
frankie
29th April 2010, 23:33
removed them and just taped the plug up to stop water getting in...
and yea, can be used in the future

thats not bad :) and ye guna say id uprate brakes first as you dont wanna cool the standards to perfect temp, then change brakes and not be able to get them up to temp.
obv this depends on if its just a road car or road/track

she will be out on the track in the future, would like to say near future but doubt that will happen lol.
theres a lot of talk about these green stuffs but ive also heard they cook pretty quickly, you had any experience of them?
i could always block up the ducts when i uprate brakes, depending on what my power is at that time

ive got green stuff on front and rear... really good pads i think never had problems.
only issue ive had is after a good time have to leave car in gear to stop it rollin down the drive where the brakes cool

yellow stuff are spose to be quite good, green being wank.
i would imagine as a first time tracker you'd cook the brakes no matter one, just down to in experience...
and i doubt the home made brakes ducts would be amazing...

Save your money and 16v it ;)
It gives you a better platform to mod on, 120bhp as standard, could cam it, remap, exhaust, breathing mods, easily 150bhp achievable IMO.
No point in modding a 8v, I learnt the hard way and wasted alot of money.
