I've got a mate with a C3 who's car sounds like it runs off pixie dust basically, we've always take the piss outa it thinking its just because they're ecodrive cars etc. But my mates just got insured on his mums C2 and that sounds exactly the same.

Can anyone shed any light on why these engines sound so high pitched and shit, and what can be done to fix these?

Also, C3 buddy mentioned something about not being able to fit aftermarket headunits as it messes with the electrics? New to me, anyone back him up on this?

Cheers :y:

no idea what you're on about on the high pitch stuff... but you're mate is chatting mega piles of poo. As my mothers (soon to be mine), has a sony aftermarket headunit in it.

if its canbus wiring its a bit trickier to put an aftermarket headunit in. if you dont know what youre doin it can cause problems yes.
the whiny noise could be down to more restrictive inlets and exhausts to cut noise and emisions
