Steering seems not connected to wheels

Hey all driving back from a mates and steering seems fucked after turning half a turn feels like wheels are very vague and skitish all the gaiters , ball joints seem fine any help or advice much appricated as im baffeld thanks

is there any play in the rack or knuckle mate could be that.
