right started my car the other day and it was running fine for about 2mins then it just cut out and since then i dont get no lights on the dash when on the second click only get the battery light which comes on the first turn and stays on the second the car will turn over on the third turn as usual but aint got no power going to coil pack or fuel pump or the dash board lights also the fuel gauge or temp gauge battery its self is fine aint flat dont even get the imobilser light on the dash could it be that there is a problem with the second turn on the switch on the igniton barrel i checked all the fuses and relays and there fine. if im reading the haynes manual right the power has to go though the ignition barrel before goes to the ecu, also needs to go through the ignition barrel to go to the dash cluster is that correct?
am pritty sure it not a ecu problem as power aint getting to it as far as i know
would it be worth changing the switch before i get a mechanic out to look at it?
soz for the SA haha need it sorting though :(

That red Grommit type thing is a reset botton for something or so i was told today, my old man had one on his renult kangoo, that had the same symptoms and that fixed it. worth a push?

or fuel pump might not be getting enough fuel into engine to make exlostion

no power is going to either the fuel pump or the coil pack so there a problem before them somewhere

i had nerly the same problem with mine mate, same year and everything. after a few days of checking everything it turned out to be the ignition live to my coil pack (it runs spark primes fuel pump and works injectors) if youve got a leccy tester take the plug off your coil pack and find the ignition live out of the 4 connecters in the plug (mine is the 1st connector if you count them from the driver side) push a thin wire into it and put the plug back onto the coil pack and then with the other end of the wire touch it on the battery for about 5 seconds (get someone to sit in the car and listen for the fuel pump priming) if it does you just need to find a new ignition live to wire your plug to... but if not i would check your earths from engine to car.. sorry if this is a bit confusing but its the easiest way i can explane it lol, hope it helps mate

no i dont think i did mate, if its not either of the problems above all i can think of is immobiliser or ecu, i would give what i explained in the last post a go coz it sounds very similar to the problem i had, and its an easy fix if it is just a dodgy ignition live. if you try it and its not that just either pm me or just write back on here and i'll keep checking the post and try n talk u through anything else it could be.
