it would not be money lost regretably, it would be money lost well as i would have beat it out my system, but ive drove a lowered corsa before it wasnt all that bad, plus i kinda like the look of the old gsi, which is mainly what im looking for either 1.6 sport or Gsi, maybe even a 'shitty x20xev' engined one lol

deo not get a corsa b. the engines are that packed into the engine bay that even changing the egr sensor (that is a very common thing) needs all the inlet/battery/coolant tank off and then u have 4cm of room to get ur hand down there.

the timing sliped on mine. the engines drink fuel and have no and i mean no power before 5,000rpm when they kick in. yes when they kick in they are maybe a tad faster than a vtr but by that time the vtr has pulled away already.

the brakes are wank/the aircon never works (all 10 i went look at before buying mine). exhuast nocks its bag off when lowerd.
doesnt handle aswell as a milk float even when lowerd.

i ever had the worst corsa b with full serivce history in the world or they just wank cars.
only good thing about them is the heated wingmirrors are cool.

yeah was thinking this but the x20xev (ecotec shite) isnt too bad, have 2 friends one with a 20xe and other with ecotec, and suprisingly not much difference between the 2, plus ecotec is alot cheaper to buy was on migweb earlier, recently rebuilt x20xev, 4 branch manifold, ecu , transponder , loom etc most stuff needed for conversion apart from shafts and mounts for £250 quid which is a bargain when u think there only 16bhp less than the redtops

If id ever get another corsa It would have to be a gsi or a gsi with a redtop or a redtop or a C20let... I wouldnt bother with anyother corsa personaly lol!

Its always the x20xev owners bragging how reliable and new their engine is blah blah blah. The c20xe I had in my corsa was extremely reliable, and they don't come with all that EGR shite.

As for prices there was a calibra with full service history and 74k miles on ebay couple of days ago for £300, you could have took the engine and scrapped the car or broke it for parts and make some money back.

If you want something that will handle nicely then apparently small block is a better route.
