just wondering about other people really. a few weeks ago my gfs parents dog died. they had it since she was 15. i said i was sorry to hear it and she said i wasnt very sympathetic. i dont react to bad news very well, like being told that my mum had cancer for the third time. i just sort of sat there shell shocked each time. how do you react to somthing bad? reach for the alcohol/drugs, cry, get angry? discuss.

have a hard weights session or smash the punch bag. then just swallow any left over emotion and ignore it which probably isnt the best thing to do but everyone copes differently

You know this will put us into an early grave... blood pressure and what-not

You gotta know when to stop and don't go over the top
' cuz there's a chamber deep inside the brain
That's covered with chains, so don't be shakin' 'em loose
And if ya do, i'd be runnin' for the hills

Either laugh or cry. Depending if I knew the thing/person that the bad news is about its usually cry. If I didn't know them (Jade Goody) I laugh and make jokes about it. Heartless I know.

bad news/dealing with bad things doesnt really get to me... if it did i would constantly be a mess

every now and then after a few days of hearing/seeing it I just sit there and think about it - tend to speak to people at work as most people there have dealt with something similar

Last bit of bad news I got Mr Snuggles needed his arms stitching back on :n:

I tend to need to be by myself for a bit.

Dude, if you've grown up with a dog for a large amount of your life it is family.

there is no good way of dealing with bad news... if there was, it wouldn't be called bad news.
