hey well im at work using the spray booth to paint my dimma grill but what im unsure about is do i need to key with 1200 grit wet dry between paint and laquer?

i gave it a quick once over once paint had dried before lacquaring.

ok cheers i hope ive done this ok its my first go at spraying just hope its gunna be the right colour given it 3 or 4 coats cant remember of paint then once dried held it up against the car and it was a little lighter than the car so i put another coat on so now just need to laquer

Yeah it's a good idea to give the final paint coat a very light rub down with something like 1500 grade before laquer

its my first go at spraying
little tricks like a light sanding between coats help when you're starting out

base coat shouldnt be orange peely... Base should be nice and flat - if you got any crap in the base then nip it out but if it looks good then no need..
