yes you can use the 306 GTI6 injectors like me ... but mines cammed .... so you could try 1.9 GTI injectors ... maybe ... as they are inbetween ...
Standard VTR ar 140 somthing cc
306GTI6 are 180 somthing cc
i think.
But you'l need to find some spacers and longer bolts to fit your fuel rail back on as the GTI6 Injectors are about .5 of a cm longer than the standard VTR ones ...

where did you get your longer bolts and spacers from? i could do this to my 16v

no point fitting larger injectors unless your changing the spec all you'll acheive is flooding your engine and making it run rich because there will be too much fuel not enough air.

Baught some Bolts from local DIY store ... then had some Ally tubing that was bang on the right size so just cut 2 5mm bits off and bobs your uncle ...

I got cam + straitthrough + airfilter + port polished + prepped throttle body ... so that was my reason. it was running lean on the standard injecctors ... could probs do with a remap too to make it just right ... well worth doing.

Well that would make me guess that the standard VTR's are 240cc then somthing like that.

the standard injectors will be fine for the mods listed. You wouldn't get any more performance by fitting ones that flow more because they are not running out of puff.
With the lambda sensor the car should automatically adjust the fueling to keep the air fuel mixture within safe limits.

The OP has a manifold and a filter. Not really taxing his injectors.
Did you get your car remapped and you had maxed out injector duration?

vts injectors are 225cc@3bar ish - so vtr injectors I'd guess were easily sub 200cc@3 Bar.
Injectors just supply fuel to the engine, so if your car needs x amount of fuel, fitting bigger injectors still means the car needs x amount of fuel.
The only benefit from bigger injectors is that when you need them to flow say 600cc to keep a 13:1 afr, then having 400cc injectors means you'll be maxing them out well before max power, causing you to need larger ones.
I wish people would just learn about how engines work and then you'd know that JUST by fitting bigger injectors won't give you more power unless you are running your oem injectors at a stupid duty cycle at the top end of your revs.

No remaps ... but i can seriously feel the differance ... get hell of a better response from the engine when putting your foot down its crazy i was suprised my self.

yes you're right injectors do not give you more Horsepower im sorry if the way i explained it made it seem like that ... to me performance does not neciserily mean horse power .... it means response torque etc ...
Fitting the injectors has made my car 3 times more responsive than before ... it responds strait away when putting my foot down .... in high revs it feels less like its low on petrol in the engine it just zooms up to 6000 revs ... when before it would struggle a bit.
so for me that means im getting better performance from my engine, surpisingly im getting better mpg aswell wich is nuts but hey. Think it's just helped the cam without having to get my ECU done ... mite do that soon to see how much i can gain by doing that too ...
If i Remember you can cause bore wash by running more you engine rich the same way you melt you pistons if you run lean. my advise is to run the standered ones intill you have been proven that the injectors are maxed out with i can imagine a saxo will max out intill you turbo it.

Are you sure it wasn't a case of your standard injectors were knackered and these ones weren't in terms of spray pattern etc..

yep we tested the old injectors .... they work fine in my mates VTR ... but the bigger ones work better in mine .... the car revs quicker .... so it was obviously running a bit lean and having the bigger injectors helped settle the ECU ... i dont know but i can tell you i felt a differance ...

Whats your engines' BSFC and whats the duty cycle on your current injectors? Have you had the AFR check?
