Think it disables the alarm - say if you want to park up and leave a window open or someone in the car?!

Same here, and mines a pain in the ass and goes off at stupid times in the morning. Just leave my car unlocked now. Unfortunatly love my sleep more than my car :-)

When you stop the car and take the key out, you press the button for a few seconds until the light comes on. This disables the pressure sensors on the A pillars.
As said, this means you can lock the car with window/sunroof still open without the alarm going off.
Try locking it with the window open on a windy day without pressing the button. Alarm should go off. Then try after pressing it. Alarm shouldn't go off. :y:

A common problem on the vts is that the pressure sensors are "too" sensitive. I have to press the button every time I lock the car.
Some people just put tape over the sensors!

as aready said, it basically deactivates the internal sensors.
i press and hold unitl the red light comes on before i lock my car. if i don't, the alarm will go off at silly o'clock when i'm in bed.
