hard to get into gear help please!

every since i bought my little 1.1 mk1 sax its always been really hard to get into gear, ecpecially in the mornings! 1st is really hard to get into and it crunches going into every gear, i dont have a clue about gearboxes can someone please help!!

sounds like poor lubricant to me mine did this just got the garage to put more gear box oil in it .. fook nos how they did it but it worked :D

check the linkages.
may be your clutch cable too??

linkages will prob be fine, good thing about the ones on a saxo is they either work or they dont (basically)
clutch cable is a good one, it could be loose meaning youre not fully engaging the clutch when you put your foot down.
and as mentioned it could be short on lube, top it up with oil

clutch cable is fine, and is adjusted properly, and gearbox has gear oil in it, and it has the correct stuff, it like there is a slight barrier just before it goes into gear

I have the same issue on my VTR - my clutch has been adjusted to the maximum you can allow so it means new clutch time.
