if its knocking, banging or vibrating or you have lost drive it points towards driveshaft failure, usually knocking when driving slowly with steering locked over

its more of a grinding or rubbing on the drivers side wheel, i recently had my gearbox changed n thats when it started with like a squeeking n has now got worse

is it more noticable when you lift off the accelerator? i.e. when tehre is no load on the engine but you are still moving? when mine went it started with a feint squeaking and ended up sounding like chewbacca screaming!

You ca npick them up new from ebay for about 80 each.. Find them for much cheaper from someone splitting a car or scrap yard etc...

Of topic note though: How lonmg before the driveshaft simply falls of or something? because when I bought the car the driveshaft would rattle slightly in second occassionally, and click and clunk when lifting on and off the accelertor every now and again. After a further 1000 miles it rattles VERY badly in second, clicks alot and has even started to rattle slightly in other gears..

Im just wondering if its going to drop out and kill me at any point soon? Cheers guys haha

Haha thats good then! I'm pretty sure it isnt, You can noticably feel the rumbling kind of sound vibrating through each footwell... Plus i dont understand how the clicking when pumping the accelerator on and off would be linked to the gearbox? :n:

Change them sooner rather than later, they cause more damage when leaving them. I left mine for around 8000miles and regretted it when the inside of the driveshaft decided to blow apart on me down a bypass.

The wheel will not fall off but its a horrible experience trying to control a car doing 60 and only one wheel is moving and the other one feels like the brakes are on.
