Didn't really want to make this thread. For reasons I'll explain in shortly, Anyway, I PM'ed Marcus (premium member on here) as he was breaking his car, and I really liked his work/mods. He seemed like a brilliant guy, has 8 positive feedback on iTrader, and I had talked to him before many times, and seemed 100% genuine. I had no qualms about even sending the money as a gift (I didn't however, and not that he asked). Basically I said I wanted the following parts;
Rocker Cover
Rocker cover nuts (x2)
Rocker Cover Oil cap.
Stainless steel rocker cover badge
Stainless steel 'VT?' door badges
Bracket that holds power steering fluid bottle
Battery tray
Manifold heat guard
Drivers foglight
Manifold
ECU tray
Coil pack cover
We agreed on £100. Now, after much chasing I finally received some parts, the badges/rocker cover badge came in an envelope, and the rest of the parts in a big box, all brilliantly packaged, I believe he sent them business post from his work, this took quite a few weeks, I got onto him still having complete trust in him that it was just a mistake, and he hadn't checked the list before sending, but I am still missing;
Coil Pack Cover
Battery Tray
Drivers foglight
Rocker cover nuts
I opened a dispute on paypal for a £35 refund (what I estimated the worth of the remaining goods, generously) (if I hadn't of had the option and they would only issue a full refund, I would of given back the £55 because I'm an honest guy, and of course that would have been stealing on my part), I have sent him a message, and tried to add him on facebook, sent him numerous texts, and emails, and PM'ed him many times on here. He has answered some of the phone calls, but not replied to any other communication. To put it in perspective, the deal was agreed on the 3rd of February, and it's now 16th May. E.g. over 3 months. I didn't really want to start this thread because he seemed such an honest guy, he did a 'good deal', and I am happy with everything I have received. But that wasn't the deal, he hasn't sent me all the parts I paid for. Like I said, I didn't want to name and shame, and I don't think he even comes on here anymore, but advice/staff input is appreciated. I am a bit apprehensive about going to the police because as said, he seemed so genuine/such a nice guy, seemed very trustworthy, and the parts in question don't equate to a huge value, but it's not the point, I paid for them, if he didn't want to send them he shouldn't have agreed a deal.
I sent the money as a 'service' I think on paypal, but it made no difference, when I went to dispute it, I ticked the "missing items" and "goods missing" boxes, but it said it could not chargeback, it would only send an email to him explaining what I said in the dispute, and that I had disputed it. It could also be the amount of time passed I suppose. The other reason for this perhaps misplaced trust (:/), and added to how genuine I thought he was, he gave me his mobile number, email address, where he works, and it's not particularly a scam, because he's sent most of what I asked for, but at the same time, it is in the sense, it is not complete.
