I normally try and wash it off asap, but I had an exam today so didn't have time - was already solid to the paint when I went out to the car at about 1 this afternoon.
Got home tonight and gave the car a wash as it was flithy anyway. The result - slap bang in the middle of my bonnet. :(

So yeah, just a word of warning really. Get it off your paint asap - best way I find is lie a damp cloth/ mf over it and leave it to soak in. Then gently wipe away.
Don't know what it is with birds atm - never seen so much sh** in all my life. :panic:

Aye, one of those things unfortunately. Machine polished the car recently and had some similar marks on the roof - took a fair bit of work to make them disappear.
Makes you wonder why we bother. :mental:

Machine polishing with a polishing pad worked for the marks on my roof mate. Took a good few passes though.

Depends on whether you have a layer of lacquer/clear coat on your paintwork or not.

I can assure you my paint has lacquer on it... and a layer of Collinite 915. :S
I don't think today's sun helped matters at all.

I can see this effecting it but both mine and my parents cars have laquer and decent paintwork with protection on it. maybe some birds have stronger shit than others haha

I had the biggest lump of bird shit I had ever seen on my car the other day. My girlfriend and my girlfriends mum all had it over their cars as well, so must have either been a big group of birds fly over, or one bird has the serious shits.
Luckily came right off with some elbow grease :y
Whats the best thing to get it off your car? I might have to make an emergancy stash in my car incase im away from my other cleaning products at the time

I think its something to do with what the birds have eaten, like a certain fruit will make the shit more acidic and damage the paint...
probably talking bullshit but only thing i can think of :/

If and when a bird shits on the car I just use heavily diluted APC and a soft brush then rinse away

Cheaper and effective: spray some window/glass cleaner and leave for a couple of minutes. Then wash the car..
You should try seagull shit. I swear these fucking birds produce natural concrete

urm surely that would remove any wax and sealats you have on that part of the car. i tend to spray it with quick detailer let it soak spray again which basicly takes it of on its own then wipe it up with a m.f cloth

No as I don't use a wax on my car anymore. I use Gtech C2. APC will do jack shit to that.
