Is there a way of "tightening up" the leather on seats?

ie if I have leather with the side bolsters cracking slightly?

Don't think there is a way of tightening them up bud. I use AG leather balm on mine. Leave loads on to soak in for an hour or two. Then wipe off. Just make sure it's been cleaned first, can get a decent leather cleaner for around £3 from halfords. The AG balm made my cracks look ALOT better but didn't get rid of them.

leather doesn't need conditioning. only cleaning with leather cleaner. if you have to the only conditioner that should be used is water

Not at all lol

The idea of a conditioner is to keep he leather soft and supple.......the leather being smooth stops the material from cracking.

Leather should be kept in good condition if you want it to stay in good condition.

i know it sounds brutal but the experts actually sand the leather to get the cracks out and then re dye it

something like this

check out a local motorcycle shop for leather cleaner and restorer, my dad an brother both have motorbikes and leathers so its free for me haha

i use it every so often on my seats, although i have no cracks

the reason leather cracks is due to it tightening and drying out, you really want it soft and supple

go to your local horse shop, if you have one and get soem sadle soap ;) works wonders.

but as pred says, for cracking it needs washed down, leather filler applied, sanded down and repainted :y:

No it doesn't ? Letting the leather get dry leads to cracking. Keeping it soft, supple and moist with conditioning will stop it cracking.
