im looking at a new engine for my VTS. i can get a tu5jp4 engine with low miles fairly cheap (the standard vts engine being a tu5j4). been told by the company selling them on 106owners that id only need to transfer my manifold, sensors and sump. as everything else will be ready to go.
i was wondering though, if i declare this on my DVLA paperwork, will this count towards a engine transplant and thus hick up the insurance?

Depends on the company, some would say nothing, some would say a full engine transplant, who you with?

As long as you tell them, I imagine they would be fine about it, so no charge, as long as it is in your power bracket, if it isn't then there isn't much of a rise in your premium

brentacre were fine with me about the bhp limit. on a mk2 vtr, with pipercross filter, piper 4-1- manifold, and supersprint race exhaust, they gave me a limit of 100bhp. and when i put the vts engine in, it was a very similar price to have the limit at 130 or have it at 160bhp
