they are given fuck before they are set out of manafacture and sold!
ive never "ran" my woofers in! and never had any problems!
just made sure ive set everything up spot on before i cain it!...then it'll be maxed out non stop!
but if you want to be safe, 1/4 volume for an hour will be fine.

Only speakers i've ever run in are my rainbows
and that was purely because rain-bow said so (*WWF, stone cold steve austin voice*)
that took 10 hours though!
as tonto said, so long as its all wired up right / gain set correctly you'll be good to go. the materials used in speaker making are very well constructed. It's actually near impossible to blow a sub if its set up correctly
ok cheers for your help guys :)

Running in does exist, Well it does for my kicker. As they are stiffer to begin with so its harder for the coils to move at first, possibley will cause the speaker to blow before you reach the maxium potential - just run it in to be safe. Few hours not maxing it should be fine.

how much time do u spend in car per day? turn the amp down to about a quarter of its power and use it like this for a week or two then start to turn the bass up. not all the way at first

I thought you ment "setting it up"
Does your sub really need to be "run in" that's got to be one of a kind. Ive dealt with a few subs and never come across that.
Either way... read up on the amps manual so you know how to adjust the limits sensible. Dont be a noob and wack everything on full :D
naa i wont, i will be careful on power to start with :D and cheers i will give ya a shout if i get stuck :)
