mk1 gearbox mk2 engine?

will a mk1 gearbox work on a mk2 engine, both vtr model.... also if im using the mk1 i will need the mk1 driveshafts or are the later mk2 ones compatable? probly a stupid question but hey ...

yes gearbox will be fine, mk2 ones need to be used to ensure they fit in the hubs correctly, early shafts have a flat end, later ones are tapered. if they are mis-matched you'll be wrecking wheel bearings within a day

ive still got the struts for the mk1 so i mite just put the struts on with it (there lowered 60mm so saves eventualy taking the springs off and fudging about) so if i use the mk1 gearbox on mk2 engine with mk1 driveshafts + struts it should be ok ryte?
