what do you all think of mondeo st220, am thinking of buying one for a sensible option

V6 i believe? Heard some good thing's about them... I think all the sportier Ford's are meant to be pretty good handling. They look smart too... I'd say yes to one :)

Sensible? Surely you want to be looking at the diesel in that case!

I've only had a go in the old ST24 so cant really comment on the new shape, but the ST24 was a lovely car, just felt it had a rudder at the back!

My manager got one, he took me out in it and they are sweet! Very comfy, pretty quick, look smart. But he says it drinks way too much petrol.. that's V6's for you.

We've got 2 mondeos...but not an ST. Got a TDDi and a TDCi. To be honest we have heard horror stories with them with dual mass flywheels/injectors/bottom pulley. The latter causes a noisy and uneven idle and needs replacing.

Saying all this though, we've had no problems as such. BUT the tdci needs the bottom pulley doing because its making a racket and the TDDi had seized handbrake cables and the parts are a bitch to get hold of.

prefer the older shape ST24 or ST200 but like the mondeos alot, dad had an old shape v6 (same as ST24 but without the kit) and it was a really decent car, nice speed as well

Petrol is juicy for the size engine from what ive been told, ive always been lead to belveive the tdci st is the one to have wit hthe optional recaros.

Very nice cars but at the end of the day its going to be a cruiser not a racer so dont expect mega speed.
