Nankang aren't the worse tyres in the world mate and at that price are a bargain
Just bear in mind you could get charged another £10 a wheel for fitting and balancing

i did work experience at a garage mate, the guy who owns it said for me to feel free to go in and use his equipment :)
nankang have a good strong sidewall for a budget. Could get worse for that money i would go for it

They are affectionately nick named hedge finders though. And personally I would avoid fitting budget tyres as much as possible. Tyres are arguably one of the most important parts of your car.

nankangs are remoulds . . . how the hell can people say anything good about them?
i can pick up Pirello PZ Nero in that size for less than 60 bucks a pop.

lmfao, you serious? nankangs are definately not remoulds!!!
i've said it before, you can't fault them for the money.
and in response to buying top shelf tyres, my other half drives a 106 1.1 5 door, 100% standard. should i make sure that she buys p-zero's or eagle f1's for her next set of tyres to ensure she doesn't suddenly fall off the road when she potters to work and back at around 25mph? i think not, not everybody needs amazing tyres!
I use Nankangs as our supplier at work.
Can't knock them for the price.

budget ftl... why do people skimp on their life?
there is a reason why i spent nearly 500 bucks on my lid for the bike!
other than using my old one, which i dropped from about 4ft off the floor!
its the same principle... you pay cheap, expect cheap.
simple.
saying that, budgets are GREAT when your baby is in the car, and it slips out and you kill them... and the report blames it on the cheap nasty tyres you have on the car!
and where people would rather spend 60 bucks on two, rather than 120 for ALOT better...
what is 120 quid these days for a set of pirellis or something? its nothing...guy i work with pays alot more than that every 3 months for his tyres! because he wont buy cheap!

perhaps a bit overkill, with the baby comment. Ive driven cars before with budget tyres and haven't 'sliped out and killed anyone as you put' it.

i'm never going to agree with you on this, if you ever push a car or drive hard then yeah, top shelf tyres are worth it. but for an everyday run of the mill car used for commuting on main roads and getting driven gently? i don't think so.
cars don't just fall of the road due to having cheap tyres. if they were that bad, garages wouldn't be allowed to sell them.

yeah ok, overkill i admit that.
but i was talking to an under taker last week...
the reason he spent 900 bucks on 4 tyres for his car, baring in mind he had a good 4mm all around, was becauce he said the ammount of dead people he has to sort out, and when he reads the reports and it comes back as they had crap tyres he wanted only the best he could get!
which i completly agree with!
i will only use bridge, mich or pirelli! and when the rain kicks in, wouldnt say no to a conti!

good for you, i'll continue to use my mrs' car with whatever budget crap is on it and have no issue with her driving it on them too as a car with 60bhp isn't going to get you into much trouble!
for my own car, i use goodyear eagle f1's and have used toyo proxes t1-r because with the power it has, the 'enthusiastic' drives that i take it on i feel that it can justify decent tyres.

its not just the car though is it . . .
road, temp, surface / condition.
other people . . .
kid walks out infront of you, with your t1r you would stop alot quicker than budgets.
there is more than, lack of power to justify spending on tyres.

true, but when a car very rarely exceeds 30mph, the stopping distance won't exactly be massive and if there was a crash i very much doubt it would be a bad one.
each to their own, i'm quite happy to run the 'risk' of having budgets on a commuter car.
I've had toyo t1r's for last 2 years on saxo.
On my dads fiesta that rarely goes on a motorway, often used just to 'nip to asda' and take my dad to work on 30mph limit roads, we have some budget tyres.
As said, Imo, theres no point in putting amazing tyres on something with about 50-60bhp which is driven sensibly anyway.

PZ Ner's are alright. Ive got Kumho Ecsta on at the moment. Cheaper then the pirellis and there is no noticeable lack in performance! if not better!

kuhmo tyres are around the same price range as Nangtang (sp)
i didnt mean to start a war with this thread, was really just asking for a bit of advice. if i can find 4 decent tryes for under £300 then i will get them, i just dont enough cash at the mo to spend £107 on a tyre which is what ive been quoted, however, in the winter i will change my tyres anyway due to the weather conditions and shit on the road...
