I've fit two front calipers today as mine were siezed solid. On fitting the calipers i noticed the rubber brake pipes seem to now bend towards the tyres.
I am going to refit them tomorrow before i bleed the whole system, just wondered if anyone had any advice as i want the brake pipes to sit right and not be anywhere near the tyre.
It's a pain as when you tighten the nut the pipe moves with it, will i have to twist the pipe the opposite way then as the nut is tighened it will untwist itself???

Twist the caliper ONTO the line, tighten it and then bolt the caliper to the strut.

If it still doesn't sit right, undo the brake pipe at the union where it goes to the copper lines and you'll be able to twist it and re-tighten.

Thats what i did twisted caliper, i think i'll do what you said and undo it at the union where it joins the copper and untwist and tighten back up. Dont get me wrong its not too bad but i want it to be perfect and safe.

Same here, this exact thing happened when I fitted my new calipers.

The braided hoses definitely allow you to twist - I'm assuming the standard ones do too

Good luck!

just make sure that you do get the hoses away from the tyre as you dont want them rubbing through and causing brake failure

Managed to sort it, what a ball ache it was, took a few attempts but now it's away from the tyre. Sorted the rear brakes too, so car should stop really well.
