Just bought these after hearing some good reviews,
Was wondering, Will my iDA-001 be enough to power these? Or should i invest in a amp to power them? If so which one and where would i place it? I already have a sub in the car.

Did you fit an amp to them? As amping them will get that bit extra out of them

I reckon you should amp them buddy, a little 2 channel giving something like 80 wrms a side with the amp set up sweetly they will sound amazing. Just becasue a HU is only really about 25 wrms per channel so they are being underpowered.

Sounds good on the HU, but looses quality at higher volumes so im thinking about an amp, what ohms are the comp speakers? :S and where would i position the amp? Haha I did my subwoofer one fine but im stuck on how to get this amp wired in :S

The comps are 4Ohm - I have them but got them during the sale for £55 ;)

They can take a beating - mine are at 107WRMS each :D

Amping is simple, splice the outputs into the headunit wiring adapter for the front speakers.

Wait what? Why do i need to do that? Dont i just take my front rca out from the headunit, Stick it in the amp then from the amp to the comps... My problem is where to put the amp and hide the speaker cables?

Splicing into the OE wires saves you the hassle of running new wires into the doors, which usually means navigating a OE wiring plug, which is mega gay.

You're not wrong - I was talking about how to wire them from the amp to the comps.

Amp can go in the boot, under the passenger seat, wherever.

Basically an amp is wired with thesame ground power and remote its just you need a second set of rca cables form the hu. Speaker wire, ive run mine down the sides but i took my seats out and the cables are like in the middle of each footwell. Then theres a guide somewhere (il find the link and post it up when i can) where you can drill the wiring harness adaptors for the door and run high quality speaker cable through. Then its just a case of the feed from the amp going to the input of the crossover.

Oh, Where would be best to place the amp?

Well i mounted mine in the boot with the amps for the subs. However i see no reason why you couldnt mount a small sized 2 channel under a seat. Would be cool and you can poke all the cables up where the pre tensiors are for teh seat belts. Either that or well what saxo do you have? If you havent got passenger airbags and dont use your glove box you could hide one in there. Are you going to run a seperate power and earth from the battery or dizzy block the original? Also size of the amp really limits you to where you can put it. I think under your seat is your best bet.

Ok, I will amp them looking at a 2 channel JBL, Was wondering when i turn the sound up on my Headunit it starts sounding all crappy quality etc, Will an amp sort this or is it the speakers limits? they are rated 60 rms...
