revs,power drop,help please!

hi peeps,

i have been having trouble with my westie for ages and cant get it sorted,when i go to a garage the car is fine but when i get car back the problems reappear! (thought it may be my driving but same when my other half drives it too)it keeps reving itself when you push the clutch in when driving.
new problem started the other day,driving at bout 60mph and there was a power drop,revs seemed to stay the same but the car felt really weird,i pulled over and the car could only just keep running for 5 mins then died.it started fine and off i went again but 3 miles later had same probs,help please!!

ps i just moved to ellesmere from gobowen,theres loads of saxos about,anyone on here?

clutch slipping at all?

Nope,clutch is fine.have replaced air filter today and the seal to the pipe on the left of box was not in properly but surely this is not whats caused the problem?life is never that simple!

Have taken it to the garage for a new fuel filter as someone said this could be the problem and typically the car didnt do anything wrong on the way,grrr!could it really of been that seal?
Garage is giving it a check over,have already replaced coolant,temp sensor and icv,if probs persist could it be map sensor?

Id say Fuel pump.

Is it the pump that you can here shutting off when you turn off the engine?mine takes a few seconds after to shut down,is this correct or is it dodgy?!!

picking it up from garage today,they say its ok but time will tell,keep you posted

Hey,

picked up car,they had cleaned icv and throttle housing,they had a 206 1.4 in a few days earlier and it was doing the same thing,icv was the culprit on that.drove car for 25 miles with no probs,it was like driving a different car!its now started doing it again so i guess this is the problem?
i replaced the icv about a year ago with a part off ebay im guessing it wasnt a very good part!
