Hi everyone, im new here and just looking for some advice. Just bought a two channel JBL amp and a sub and was wondering if it is possible to wire components and the sub from this amp? I understand you need one channel for the sub and two channels for the components? Is there anyway this can be done with just two channels? I used the search function for this topic but didnt come across anything, sorry if this is a repost. Thanks a lot, Jake.

Could wire the two components to the same channel but might not be the best idea, best of buying an amp with more channels, they are not too expensive

You cant mate thats the simple answer. Basically due to the lpf low pass filter it will filter out all music apart from the bass, as its a sub thats all you want from it is bass. However your comps wont be able to play highs as teh music will be flitered out. You need 2 amps. Use the 2 channel for the comps and buy a mono block for the sub. Also before you amp the comps what comps n what amp have you got?

No offense intended when i say this buddy. If i was you id sell up all the audio stuff you've got, see what cash you have, see what other cash you can add to your budget and start again. As thats not a very powerful amp. In my experience mutant arent very good either. Just my experience of them. Id be looking depending on buget at some spl dyanamics, JBL or hertz comps up front. Try to amp them aswell. If your on a tight budget a jbl sub n amp deal for the boot and you will be sorted for a while. Also you could run some 10cm rears of the HU. Just what i would do amte.

Cheers for the help lads, thought it was going to be that way and need minimum of three channels! As for my stuff i have a JBL GTO 2000 (400W) and plan on getting either the budget JBL Components at around £50 off ebay, or the cheap Edge ED305s at around £40. Will try and source a mono block amp on the cheap as im not going to be spending a lot, thanks again for the help boys!

A mono block amp will not power the comps and sub
Mono block is a dedicated subwoofer amplifier
Your better off getting a four channel amp, using a channel each for your components, then bridge the other two channels to power your subwoofer.

Sorry mate didnt quite type it correct, i meant i would get a mono block amp for the sub and use my current amp for components, in all honesty a four channel amp wired the way you described sounds much easier and neater, thanks a lot.
