Love them, Great drive however very expensive when things start going bang (which is quite a common occurance! ) can be hard to find one which isnt a shabby rot box owned by a complete knob for less than 3 grand now

Ive never really seen what the fuss is about these cars
Is it because they have a turbo, because without a turbo i dont think many younger people that have these would look twice at them. Just my 2p worth before someone shoots me down saying they look as good as an Audi r8 or something daft

Answered in the first reply I thinks.
Possibly the one car that is more over priced and over rated than the EK9.

if you can insure a starlet TURBO cheaper than a S then im the queens personal rapist!
when i was 18 i couldnt get insurance for a starlet for under 3k! but an S is 2!

Oh and expect the quotes your getting to almost double as the quotes given will almost certainly be for a Starlet SR.

Nice cars ive had both the Starlet GT and the Glanza.........all i can say is you need a deeeeep pocket if you wanna be able to keep it running each year, i had my glanza 10months and it was off the road half of that. the starlet i had about 6 weeks all was ok but i just got rid cause it was stupid on petrol.
The engines aint very strong, big ends are quite common, and turbos.....nice cars if you get a fresh clean import one that hasnt been ragged, and set up right.......although i wudnt say no to another, but id make sure its been properly set up on a rolling road
My Glanza i brought off some kiddy that thought it be ok to just up the boost and take the fuel cut out, without sorting out the fueling, i didnt have a clue on this which resulted me in blowing 2 engines.
But i sold mine and got a VTS and im glad i got a VTS so much nicer to drive and alot more fun and suprise suprise way way more reliable.....and thats not everyday you hear that about a french car.

Yeh they aint all what people make them upto be, dont get me wrong if you get one thats been set up right and dont rag it everywhere then it should be fine......but my VTS is so much better, and more fun to drive and may i say faster aswell :y:
