Swapping a rear axle..?

Is it possible to switch a drum axle to a disc without changing anything else? will it just be a striahgt replacement. Might sound like a stupid question but its being done on my mates furio, which i have volunteered to do and i dont want to be the cause if something goes tits up and him crashing.

Surely you'll need extra break lines and whatnot? Also wouldnt it be cheaper to swap it for another drum set?

Whole point of it is he wants discs on the back, he is doint a full converison, i.e engine etc, but will attempt to do axle this weekend
