Back in May my parents bought me for my 21st birthday a DAS-6 Dual Action Polisher, with the Menzerna kit from CYC. (thanks for the advice J222JRA :y: ). I didnt have any time to use it due to my uni finals but this week had a few days off so thought I would get it out in preperation for FCS on sunday.

I cleaned the car using the 2 bucket method and clayed useing Megs quik clay kit and rinsed the car over and used the 2 bucket method once again

I then taped up the car with the blue masking tape.

Was then time for the Machine polisher to have its first outing. As it was the first time using the DA i used the Menz PO106 with the yellow finishing Pad, so I could get a feel for the machine. I could probably have used the PO203S but I didn't want to risk ruining my paint using the machine for the first time. Took me a few mins to get used to the technique but after a while I was getting the hang of it.

After the whole car was polished I used Dodo Juice Lime Prime Lite with a yellow finishing pad. (this stuff smells really good!)

Then used Dodo Juice Red mist as a sealant. Anyone else find the triggers on the bottles break really easily? I broke the trigger on two bottles in the space of 10mins, so had to pop down the Builders merchant and get a cheap spray bottle to tip the redmist into.

Then came the wax. I applied a coat of R222 and then gave it 24 hours before applying another coat.

Windows got cleaned useing cheap glass cleaner before I used AG glass polish to get a bit of a shine on them.

Wheels were cleaned using AG Clean Wheels and had a coat of RimWax applied afterwards. Tyres given some Megs Hot shine tyre spray.

For a first attempt with the machine polisher I was quite please, but I am obviously a long long way off the standard which most of you guys get.

Anyway here is a few pics....

Depends on the version of red mist you use.......its recommended by most (including the manufacturer) that you leave the wax for a good 24 hours before applying redmist on top of wax.

It can be used straight after polishing though as a sealant if you wish.
