Right, i know my axel is on its way out and it is getting replaced this sunday but i was just wondering if its still safe as such. Ive got to drive 100 miles on tuesday to IM axels where its getting fixed so i want to make sure from other peoples experience that these axels sounds worse than they are.

It more or less just rattles and squeeks like fook while im driving, more on rough terrain.. There is some play in the axel since i had a check the other day but its nothing serious. Its not like the wheel is sitting on an angle or anything...

So will i be good to drive it all the way on tueday? Am i correct in saying they sound worse than they are when they start to perish?

Good stuff! Ive also been doing a bit of reading up about this and it seems that it may have the arb to blame. A load of people in another thread on here reckon if i tighten it up the clanking should go away for a while...
