14th June 2010, 12:44
they will do a check on your licence plate new car and no licence probably means no insurance so that would pop up or he could have insurance but if he was on his own then its not valid so they will pull him over and royally rape his behind before he gets his licence :y:

Penalties will be harsh, as, echoing what's already been posted, that also means no insurance, which is 6 points alone I think.

And yes, afaik old bill can pull you for whatever they want, even if it's just a random spot check.

Driven round block that was it, 3am ftw.

Urm car park I think is legal though I'm not sure, driven a fair few cars that way.

Best place I have driven a car un insured would have to be the field by me where they do the car boot on a sunday morning, did that at 2am its a rally stage tbh set out some cones in the middle of the straight to make a chicane. Great fun but if you catch the grass your in for some spinny times :)

and if he hasnt got a licence when he gets one your only allowed 6 points in your first 2 yrs so will have to drive sensible all the time lol

Definitely illegal. If the police caught you, you + your mate would both get spanked with points.

"Under the Road traffic Act, a road is described as any road to which the public have access and includes bridges over which it passes. The access includes by invitation or inferal, so an industrial estate or supermarket car park also come under the RTA, you need to be fully road legal to drive on them"

6 points within 2 years of passing your licence gets revoked

When my mates got cought, the cars got taken off them and crushed. No fine and no points. Passed their test at 17 and had a clean license. Thats no license, MOT, insurance or tax on the car.

citroen_saxo_vtr
14th June 2010, 13:19
They will seize the car straight away and it would then go to court and you would end up with minimum of 6 points, they wont let you go get the car from the compound until you show valid insurance documents. This happened to my mate although it was insured and mot'd there system hadn't benn updated due to the car being an import, he got away with the court and 6 points because he gave valid documents the next day so he paid the release fee and that was that.

I got a mate who has been caught nurmerous times since he was twelve and now is banned from even taking his test (never had alicence) until hes 21.

Cant wait to see what his qoutes are once he starts driving leagally... i mean IF.

*Jokes aside though as funny as it is how would you feel if you spend serious wedge on your car and an uninsured driver ploughed straight into it.

A mate of mine got 4 years in prison and had to share a shower with the biggest grip you'd ever see..

In other words, tell your mate he's a dumbass and not to do it.

AaronSimmons

Police can do a stop check/search on any motor when ever they feel like it. Driving with no licence means he got no insurance so therefore they would 165 the car, put it in compound 170 to take it away there on 20quid for compound a day. Can be up to 12Points for no insurance/ no licence.

Someone who I knew had been doing lessons, one night she jumped in her mates car to take it for a spin.
rozers were parked up behind them the whole time, just as she pulled off she got busted.
had her license revoked for 2-3 yers iirc. i expect she got a fine too?
She was a little shit and had been in trouble with the rozzers before, so i expect thats why they came down so hard on her?

do it when your younger. 5years on your liensce say you do it at 12 years old, get done at thirteen for that (apply for a liesnce five years after the date youl be scot free)

however do it at 15 ish, when you come to apply for one the offences will be on it (assuming no liensce + ins) thus as soon as you get a further three points within three years of the offence whilist holding a full uk liensce (at any point) it will automatically be revoked.

its abit complicated but basically it is not a good idea to drive without a liensce etc

bit of a crap system tbh if im honest. id change a few things.

Driver is the boss. Any crimes committed, HE WILL be prosecuted.

Even if he was Uninsured and you were insured, he was the 'criminal' in charge thus him being f00ked.

And they have every right to take the car, how do they know you can drive? Theyre not going to waste their time checking DVLA records to say "Ok Adam, you can drive your mates car home"

Simply say "Your mate is done, you can thank your mate for a long walk home"

What about if you fit foot controls on the passenger side of the car, just like driving instructers cars?

I guess, as the DRIVER has charge of the steering wheel, he will be done, as his a DRIVER. Why would your car have that anyway?

Your likely to get done too for doing that.

At risk of being scorned.......

At the tender age of 19 i did, i "lent" a mates car, drove it, crashed it to the point where i had to phone the police on myself because it was on a country road and i was pretty badly injured although luckily nothing long term.
It was a AX and when i opened my eyes i found a engine on my lap, very lucky not to have caused serious damage to my legs.
I was charged with TWOK, Driving whilst not being with in due accordance of the law, or something like that, no insurance, no tax, no MOT.

I got 9 points on appeal because i was learning to drive which i needed to do for my job, that took a letter from my union representative and was given an extra endorsement without points.
So 2 endorsements
9 points
fines totalling £400
A car to replace
and when i did get a car, a 1.0 Seat Arosa costing £1200 my insurance was £1400

in the first 4 years of driving my insurance cost close to £6000 !
IMO i was lucky because im here writing about it, needless to say, its not worth the risk !!

3 broken ribs, cuts on what seemed like every part of my body and a part of the steering column jammed about and inch in my thigh and about 2" from my jewels !! :fcuk:

In all honesty though the most painful part was having to tell people what happened, telling family how bloody stupid id been !!

I was going about 50 got to a T junction slammed on the brakes went straight on, kinda dropped into a ditch up the other side and burst through a small hedge, lucky not to flip over really.
My dad made me go work on the farm every weekend for a month, shameful if im honest.

Had no tax, no MOT, no insurance and I had no license. On a mates birthday he wanted to go for a drive in it, in the end I gave in. Let him have a blast. Got caught, I wasn't driving and I got 6 Points & £250 fine for allowing him otherwise they were going to do him for stealing it.

Fuck me, doesn't matter how good a mate was to me, I'd never take points for someone else's fuck up. My licence is too precious for that. But fair play for taking it on the chin though bud.

A friend of a friend (yes really) drives with no insurance. He used to go to my school, he didnt have a car then. If I ever see him driving round I do believe I will give him a piece of my mind.
