Im with i-kube (only way i could afford to get my car insured) (cant go out between 11pm and 5am)
I rung them up asking them if i could do any mods to my car...
'Hello i-kube'
"Hi im an existing customer with you and just wondered what mods i can do to my car"
'You can do any normal mods to your car but no extreme ones, thanks goodbye, *BEEEEEEEP*'

1) they just cut me off, the twats.
2) what the hell do they class as 'normal mods' ??

throttle bodies*

Bike carbs, turbos, every things pretty normal these days. There isnt much that shocks people is there.

You need to get it in writing or a recorded phone call and then do what mods you want.

Definately ring them back and get it in writing what you are and are not allowed to do and if anything will increase your premium.

They dont let you out between certain times, and wont even let you choose your mods. WOW

No mods declared.
Low risk post code.
And obviously not allowed out between 11pm and 5am.

Well
1) Im fully comp.
2) i have a laserline immmobiliser
3) I have a passcode.
4) If somehow they did nick my car... ring them up and tell therm asap in the morning.
I think i also forgot to mention... if you do go out between these times, then the good thng is your insurance doesnt become invalid... however you do have to pay 45 quid a night, wether your a minute late or an hour late.

how do they know that you're driviing after 11pm? or do you mean, if you crash say at midnight, you have to pay them £45 excess?

They know if i am driving between them times as they fit a tracker in your car.
This costs 180 quid but is included in your premium.
If i go out between these times 'known as red hours' then an automatic charge is 45 pound weather i crash or not...

sounds like a good insurance company to me! gives younger people abit more chance to get on the road being legal. i still think 1700 is high though regardless you being 17.

sounds like you need a better insurance company at least you didnt get this reply from them: i called up looking for a quote as i put modified car insurance in google and they came up,

they asked what alloys so i said nothing special just a cheap set of 17" and the guy turned round and said, " u must be wrong, thats illegal and they dont fit a saxo anyway"

Thats the most stupid anser ive ever heard of!!!

You can only go higher by 1x your standard set of alloys ....

I wouldnt say it was good, it is just a help to younger drivers who cant afford £3000 for insurance.
