I'm guessing your using a VTS engine loom yes? The problem is that you probably don't have the wires needed inside the car (interior loom), so anything past the engine loom connection on the interior side won't work unless its standard on a 1.1. I think you'll have to wire them in, into the main connectors down by the fusebox (below glovebox).
As for the oil and water gauges, I think you will have to wire the whole lot, including buying connectors for the sensors.

could you not just buy a VTS interior loom? That would sort it no?

i have a vts loom its just going to be a big job as i got it off ebay and some of the wires are cut i have put a wire from the rev gauge to the ecu i just dont know what wire to connect it to as i read on the 1.1 engine and ecu you connect it to the wire that goes in hole 6 in the ecu

Buy a Haynes manual or search on here for some electrical diagrams (there is some somewhere). Then trace the rev counter wire into the port for the ECU, its really easy once you understand the diagrams.

I found a wire on the ecu and the rev counter is working but the needle is really bouncy why would it be doing it
