has anyone bought it??

Its my old saxo and has been spotted twice around the whitley bay/cullercoats/north sheilds area of north east england.

its in a right dangerous state, traded it in with 4 days MOT left.

aparently stil has the saxp stickers on so would be good to speak to the owner (if you have joined) and find out how you got it through an mot when all four corners of the car wer going to collapse very soon!!

also, beware, the back axle is due to come through the boot floor very soon

thanks.

What was wrong with it?

Who's to say he never fixed it?

from what i remember of the fail sheet the main 4 reasons (there was 10 in total) for failure were:

Offside rear subframe excesivly corroded
Nearside rear subframe excesivly corroded
Offside front suspension mounting + arch excesivly corroded
Nearside front suspension mouting + arch excesivly corroded

basically the rear axle and bashed the boot floor up 5 inchs into the boot and was not attached to the sides of the car, so it was due to drop at the rear, most likely snaping the rear axle off if moving at the time.

The front strusts wer due to shoot through the top and the front archs are nie on collapsed!!

also the offside rear inner arch had bent that much with the boot floor geting bashed it it was 4mm away from the rear tyre.... blow out perhaps??

from a "friend" who is a welder it was nearly a grands worth of work and would of needed a near boot floor and sheet metal everywhere, from a insurance approved body shop it was over 2.5k worth of work.

Its not my problem "really" but who ever has bought it, if they dont repair it soon wont be here anymore!!

...Lame.

Looks so mint on the outside.

Just goes to show what someone was saying the other day, the car care detailing whores might have shiny paintwork, but whether or not the underside of the car is as clean as that, and whether or not the rest of the car is maintained to the same standard is another story ;D.

Were they aware of all these problems before they accepted the trade in?

very true bound.

i new of aproblem witht he boot floor a while back, but didnt realise it had got so bad until i had the back wheel off for a brake probem, seen the arch was bent and looked further!

hence why i went out and got a new car asap lol

i wouldnt worry too much about it tbh, the dealer you sold/traded it to have a duty to ensure the car is road worthy.

otherwise if something did happen they would be hung, drawn and quatered

yea if THEY sell it, it was put on a transport truck and trailerd off to the auctions.

It never went on their forcourt... would of looked abit out of place next to all the jap cars they had in lol

Yeah, never been to a car auction before.. but I assume some it's up to the poor bidding sap to do their own checks on it, not for the garage to tell them, they have to ask for details "ask me no questions, tell me no lies?" :p. Although obviously MOT/tax status will be disclosed, dunno how much they'll be willing to tell (or even know about themselves) to the punterss.

Also, some garages sell to the public when they’re not meant to, under different names, e.g. they might ask you to sign it "Your Surname 's Cars" or whatever.

so how did the boot floor get bashed up 5 inches mate?

it had been in a crash before i bought it, and the bot floor had rusted away from the sides.

Got this welded up, but it went under the presure again and over time it just bent the boot floor up approx 5 inchs.

If you can imagine a speed hump in the boot.... lowerd the car 40mm and it was siting at about 70mm on the back when i sold it...

yes but the DEALER still owns the car as they took it in part ex...

Vehicles are consigned for sale by the owners (who could be a private individual, a dealer, a company, financial institution or government department for example), who complete a legally binding form (the Entry Form) which declares the vehicles age, mileage and condition. Usually a reserve value is set, which is the lowest figure the seller will accept: the auctioneers cannot sell below this value.

that is ALL they have to declare...

Check the car: Remember that it is up to you to check the car's overall exterior visible condition - paintwork, trim, tyres - and the interior - seats and carpets, for example - prior to sale. All these factors are 'sold as seen', so take every opportunity to examine the car in the line-up prior to entering the auction hall. When the car is driven into the auction hall, follow it in and listen to the engine running.

just a shitty way of dealers getting rid of shitty cars lol.

not too sure about taking MOT cert as iv always done mine online
