Im trying to find a site that will tell me the exact power of an MG ZT CDTi as it left the factory as there were 2 variants - does anyone know of a website that will tell me, it has to be the info specific to that car and registration. Ive tried the dvla site and vin look up sites but they seem to be a waste of time.

This is the only way to be certain really. Short of chasing through all the old history if it's even available.
There were all supplied to the dealer as 114 up to 2002ish. With the availability of being upgraded to 135 by the dealer. These models were usually fitted with a red 'i' badge on the back.
After 2002 they started supplying them as 135 from the factory. The red 'i' badge became difficult to get hold of so very few were ever fitted with it.

Well the car was registered in sept 2003, the badge on the back doesnt have the red "i" on the CDTi badge. So you think on that basis that it might be a 135?

Nothing to say it is, nothing to say it isn't mate.
Apart from the red 'i' badges, which only a few had fitted. The only difference is in the software AFAIK. Nothing physical to tell them apart at all.

Mr_P yeah your right there is no physical difference, Ive been on a few MG forums and seem to get conflicting reports on what the difference is and how to tell which variant it is. Someone did say CDT cars were 114bhp and the CDTi cars were 135bhp but other websites have them all listed as CDTis with the 2 different power outputs.... someone must know :wall:
