Hi all.

Bought a saxo vtr about 2 months ago, since then i have realised the engine doesnt sound too good, It very noisey (tapping/knocking) and i think the head gasket has gone.

I would like to drop a newer, lower millage engine in rather than try and fix the current engine.

My Car is a 1997 saxo vtr. Someone i know has offerd me a vtr engine from his old car for cheap with quite good millage, only problem is its from a mk2 vtr not a mk1 vtr.

Will this cause me problems? due to the 1 and 3 plug ecu thing?

Any help would me much apriciated.

Joe

not really just means you have to change all the wiring in the engine bay and behind the daash mate

Or you could swap everything off your engine and fit to the new one, basically strip them both to a bareshell and swap everything. I cant see that not working.
