Cd player cutting out

alright people, just need some advice on my headunit in my car,
every now and again it turns its self of then comes back on then cuts of for good,
i will give it a tapand it comes back on....
anyone know why this could be?

Do any other electrics go off ?

Check that the battery and live wires are connected properly.

Will it lose its settings when in cuts out?
