View Full Version : Decent Sat-Nav

Been looking around for a decent sat nav. i dont want to spend alot of money and just needs to do the basic thing of directing me everywhere as im planning on travelling down to wales in september with another car club and i dont exactly know my way outside of edinburgh.

any recommendations ?

i would always go for tomtom. not really used any others so can't compare

reason i like the tomtom is the fact that wherever you are you can search for the nearest restaurant and then choose like a mcdonalds or whatever.

and nearest petrol station and choose, like tesco or shell etc.

don't know if others offer this as well.... :)

tomtom are the best but if ur looking for something cheap that asically gets u from a to b then i have a R.A.C one n it does that, i live in the middle of nowere in wales and i got up to inverness with it and round manchester ect, it was about 50 but look on ebay u mite get a deal on a tomtom

use a Garmin meself and never had any probs. Only tip really is make sure it has full post code entry as otherwise your destination will be in the vague area of where you're sposed to end up.
I think most do this now anyway but still check.

was looking at garmin :)
probably want to spend upto £100.
want something thats going to get me to wales safely from edinburgh

ive got this one, its really good and id definitely recommend it.
i seen the same one in halfords store going for £100 though so try there.

Choose Garmin, TomTom units break too easily and too regularly!

i brought my navman from halfords ex-display works brilliantly got european maps bluetooth

yea i got navman too was a budget one but does the job and 2 years free speed cam on there and 2 years free map updates, so in a way kinda makes its money back a lil as most u have to update each year. next year gonna go for the slightly more expensive model with the widescreen
